Bournemouth 0 Chelsea 0

The Cherries welcomed Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea to the Vitality Stadium, with both teams seemingly very much out of sorts. So many were waiting with bated breath for the Pochettino era but so far it has failed to impress, this needs to change, and quick.

Chelsea started on the front foot with Mudryk breaking down the left but as he cut the ball back to Gallagher it struck him on the thigh and went over the bar. Captain for the day, Conor Gallagher looked like he had just swallowed a fly as he saw his effort sail over, something to do with the cross it seemed in his mind.

Mudryk was involved again as he and Jackson exchanged passes before the striker got a shot away from the edge of the box, only to see it hit the foot of the post. Close.

Bournemouth then seemed to wake up somewhat and as the ball was whipped into the back post, Ouattara was completely unmarked but Sanchez made a great block to deny him a goal. Tavernier then tried his luck from distance but the Chelsea keeper gathered at the second attempt.

Chelsea created another half-chance when Sterling was found in the box, he chested the ball but his shot was blocked by the defender. The Blues were knocking on the door and Gallagher had a sight of goal in the box but his deflected effort was well saved by Neto.

As the second half started, Mudryk went on a mazy run and was brought down on the edge of the box. Sterling stepped up to take the free kick and it struck the inside of the upright and came back out. The rebound was knocked in by Colwill but he was clearly offside when the free kick was taken.

Sterling picked up the ball on the edge of the box and slid it into Jackson who tried to shoot from a tight angle but Neto saved. The follow up was smothered by the keeper and The Cherries managed to hack the ball away.

Bournemouth had a great chance to take all three points when Kluivert was brought down right on the edge of the penalty area. Billing struck the set piece but it deflected wide for a corner. The hosts could not make anything from it, much to the disappointment of the fans.

The game became end to end stuff for the final ten minutes with the hosts’ best chance falling to Solanke but his effort was well saved by Sanchez with his feet.

Chelsea went straight up the other end and Cole Palmer slotted in Raheem Sterling but the pass sent him too wide, he clipped it back to his teammate but his volley was saved once again by Neto.

The points were shared and after ten Premier League games this season, these two teams only have one win between them. Tough start for Pochettino in West London. He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy!!
