Fulham 3 Tottenham 0

After a huge win at Villa Park last weekend, Tottenham made the trip to Craven Cottage brimming with confidence. They knew if they could beat Fulham, Postecoglou’s side would find themselves fourth in the Premier League table.

Marco Silva’s side also came into this London derby in positive mood as well. In the history of the football club, they had never won three capital derbies in a row. However, they had won their previous two against West Ham and Arsenal.

Pereira managed to pick out Muniz in the box. The in-form striker looked to get a shot off at goal but it was well blocked. It came back to Pereira who fizzed a shot in but it took a deflection and missed the post by the narrowest of margins. Early warning for Tottenham.

A loose pass from Sarr saw Robinson nip in to steal the ball and motor forward. The talented full-back skipped past defenders before squaring it to Muniz, who completely missed the ball. Only he and his God will know how that was not put in the back of the net.

In a rare attack for Tottenham, Maddison laid the ball off into the path of Son. He looked to side-foot an effort into the far corner but got underneath it too much as the ball sailed over the crossbar. The Spurs’ skipper had his head in his hands, knowing what a big chance he had missed.

Udogie broke down the left wing and picked out Maddison in the box. He hit his shot first time and it missed the target by such a narrow margin, it knocked over Leno’s drinks bottle to the side of the goal. Spurs were struggling to find the target.

They paid the ultimate price as Robinson got forward once again and picked out Muniz at the back post. This time he made no mistake as he drilled his shot into the far corner to send the fans wild at Craven Cottage. Such an important goal just before the interval.

The Cottagers came out in the second half with a renewed confidence as Castagne got down the flank. He drilled a cross into the box which Lukic diverted with his thigh into the far corner. It was his first goal for the club and he seemed to enjoy it.

As a move broke down for the visitors, Iwobi continued to cause problems as he once again fed in the overlapping Castagne. He looked to pick out a teammate in the box but a sliding challenge blocked it, at the expense of a corner.

The cross found Bassey at the back post but his shot struck the woodwork but Muniz reacted quickest at the back post to touch the ball into the empty net. Things had gone from bad to worse for the visitors. This was turning into a ‘Spursy’ performance after last week’s four-nil win at Villa Park.

Ange Postecoglou stood on the touchline with a face that suggested he was mulling over why he ever answered that phonecall from Daniel Levy. Managing this team is not good for your health. Just as his blood pressure was reaching dangerous levels, Timo Werner said ‘hold my pint’.

Johnson did brilliantly as he strode into the box and he drilled a ball into the back post with the keeper in no man’s land. Werner was stood one yard out, in the middle of the goal, and somehow put the ball over the crossbar. Wow. He’s available for kids parties as entertainment by the way.

Kulusevski then won a header at the back post and laid it into the path of substitute Richarlison. He struck the ball first time and it went narrowly wide with some venom. Prior to his injury, he was putting those sort of chances in with his eyes closed.

Fulham held on for the three points and set a club record in the process. Tottenham skipper Son, had a bit of a meltdown in his post-match interview, showing how frustrated he was with his side’s performance after the heroics of the week before.
