Man Utd 0 Arsenal 1

The Gunners travelled to Old Trafford knowing that nothing but victory would keep their title dreams alive. Man Utd were missing the influential Bruno Fernandes and their leaky defence was missing plenty of players due to injury.

Arsenal have not got the best of records away from home against the Red Devils but if they were ever there for the taking, then this was that moment. If Mikel Arteta’s side wanted to ensure the title race went to the final day of the season, three points were a must.

Partey lost the ball in a dangerous area and McTominay fed the ball into Hojlund. The young striker had a clear sight of goal but as he looked to pull the trigger he slipped and ballooned his effort wide of the goal. Ten Hag’s side could not afford to have a wasteful afternoon.

Casemiro has been filling in at centre back and looks way out of his depth. He seemed to be channelling his inner Harry Maguire as he failed to get out, playing Arsenal onside as they recycled the ball and looked to attack the hosts.

Havertz took the ball to the byline, holding it up as he waited for support. Just at the right moment, he fizzed in a cross to the near post and Trossard flicked it past Onana to give The Gunners the lead. Old Trafford fell silent apart from the Londoners in the away end.

The hosts were struggling to create anything of note in front of goal. It was starting to look like an easy day at the office for David Raya. The only mistake Arsenal made was not going for the kill after they had scored, at one-nil, your opponent is always in the game.

In the second half, Arteta’s side looked to try and double their lead. Some good work down the left from Trossard saw the ball worked into Odegaard on the edge of the box. He checked onto his left foot and fired a shot at goal but it was an easy save for Onana.

Garnacho was looking like the main threat for the hosts. As McTominay played it into him, in a wide area of the box, he cut onto his left foot and tried to get a shot away but sliced it into the side netting when he should have been working the keeper at the very least.

This is the problem with the young Argentine, all too often he is like chatting to someone on Tinder. It all looks good, the build up is exciting but when you get to the end product of meeting them, it is all so disappointing. Another day in the life of a fan in the Stretford End.

Martinelli came on for the visitors and used his pace to stretch the United defence. He cut into the box from the wing, shifted the ball onto his right foot and got a shot away. Onana made a good save to tip it over the bar but the effort was far too close to the keeper.

Onana was the busier of the two keepers and as Rice let fly from outside the box, trying to bend one in the bottom corner, he got down well to save once again. With his side looking unable to create a goalscoring chance, all his efforts were to prove in vain.

The Gunners took all three points and their players celebrated at the final whistle like the title was theirs. Two things are for sure, it will go to the final day of the season now and Man Utd could still be playing that game now and still wouldn’t have scored.
