Nottingham Forest 2 Luton Town 2
Steve Cooper’s side are struggling to make the impact they would like at home this season but with struggling Luton Town arriving at the City Ground, the outlook was rosy for a Nottingham Forest win this weekend.
In-form Morgan Gibbs-White teased in a cross from the right, which Toffolo almost poked home but the Luton keeper stuck out a leg to deny the home side. Soon after Elanga found Wood in the box but he could not put the ball away.
Aurier was then to cross the ball from the byline and the usually reliable Wood for a rare occasion, headed the ball over the bar. In a matter of moments, the Forest striker had the chance to put the hosts two-nil up at the break.
Finally, only three minutes after the restart, Gibbs-White and Elanga combined to play in Chris Wood, who this time calmly slotted the ball past Kaminski in the Luton Town goal. The City Ground was bouncing as they got the goal their build up play had so easily deserved.

Anthony Elanga has really taken to life at the City Ground and has looked like the player he knew he could be at this level and his teasing cross found the head of Chris Wood to make it two-nil to Steve Cooper’s side.
A rash challenge by Gibbs-White on Barkley in a wide position gifted the visitors the chance to put a cross into the box. The Forest defence failed to deal with it and the ball bobbled through to Ogbene who smashed it into the top corner. The cheers were slightly muted from the away fans as they believed it to be only a consolation.
Steve Cooper will be livid with his side’s defending in the latter stages of the game as Lockyer’s long ball was controlled on the chest by Adebayo, before smashing it past Turner in the Nottingham Forest goal to draw the game level.
The Forest fans could not believe what they were seeing as in the space of ten minutes they had thrown this game away deep into added time. The look on their manager’s face said much of the same also.
In the dying moments, as Barkley got caught in possession, the ball was worked to the feet of Wood who smashed the ball past Kaminski to seemingly secure his hat-trick, the match ball and the win for Nottingham Forest.
Sadly though, the flag went up for offside and as the replay showed, the Kiwi striker had just set off a moment too soon in making his run. It will be a disappointing result for Forest, given that they held a two goal lead so late on, but for Luton Town they should be inspired by this comeback.
